The floor plan of The Radcliffe Centre showcases a well-organised layout designed for group stays and activities. At its heart is a spacious main hall, flanked by a dormitory with 24 bunk beds and a dedicated leaders’ room. Additional features include a fully equipped kitchen, separate toilets and showers for participants, a games cupboard, and a covered verandah for outdoor activities.

The site is totally secure bound by a 6' high fence and locked gates. Parking facilities are available on site, at the front of the building.

Main Hall

The main hall at The Radcliffe Centre is a bright, versatile space ideal for a variety of Girlguiding activities and events. With ample room for groups to gather, it features large tables and plenty of chairs, allowing for seated activities such as crafts, games, and team-building exercises. The layout can be easily adjusted to suit the needs of any event, from formal workshops to casual gatherings.

The hall is well-lit with overhead lighting and benefits from natural light streaming in through the windows, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. The walls are equipped with pinboards, perfect for displaying projects, posters, or decorations during events, as well as a pull down projector screen.

The main hall is equipped with essential amenities, such as access to the kitchen for preparing refreshments and a storage area for equipment. Its clean, functional design makes it suitable for hosting everything from educational sessions and badge work to celebrations and group meals, making it a hub of activity for all who visit.

Group Dormitory

The dormitory is a spacious and practical sleeping area designed for group stays. It features sturdy wooden bunk beds that can accommodate up to 24 people, offering a comfortable and communal sleeping arrangement.

The room is well-lit and has easy access to adjacent facilities, ensuring convenience for overnight stays. With its clean, functional design, the dormitory provides a cosy and inviting environment, perfect for fostering camaraderie and teamwork during Girlguiding adventures.

Group Bathroom

The Radcliffe Centre provides spacious and thoughtfully designed group shower and toilet facilities, ideal for accommodating the needs of large groups. The shower area features two individual stalls. The rest of the room can be used as a changing area.

The adjacent toilet area includes two cubicles equipped with modern fixtures, with sinks conveniently located for handwashing. The layout is well-lit and ventilated, promoting hygiene and cleanliness. These facilities are regularly maintained to ensure they remain in excellent condition, providing a practical and efficient solution for groups during busy stays or events.

The leaders have their own toilet and shower facilities.

Leaders' Rooms

The leaders’ rooms provides a comfortable and private space for leaders to relax and unwind during group stays. It is thoughtfully designed with two bunk beds and two single beds, sleeping 6 leaders in two rooms creating a peaceful retreat from the busier areas of the venue.

Adjoining the room is a private bathroom, equipped with a modern shower, toilet, and sink. This offers convenience and privacy, allowing leaders to refresh and prepare for the day in comfort. Perfect for recharging after a busy schedule of activities.

The leaders’ room is a practical space for group leaders to rest and focus, while still being close to the main dormitory and activity areas to oversee the group’s needs.

Kitchen

The Radcliffe Centre boasts a fully equipped kitchen, ideal for group catering.

It includes two electric cookers, a large larder fridge, an additional under counter fridge and freezer, a microwave, and all the crockery and cutlery needed for up to 36 people.

This well-designed space ensures everything is on hand to prepare and serve meals efficiently, making it perfect for group stays and events.

Open Field and Woodland

The Radcliffe Centre has a stunning open field at the back, and its own peaceful woodland, with a nature reserve, offering an idyllic setting for outdoor adventures and exploration.

The field is perfect for pitching tents, playing games or hosting group activities, while the woodland provides opportunities for nature trails, wildlife spotting, and learning about the environment.

A dedicated campfire area allows for evenings filled with storytelling, songs, and toasting marshmallows, creating a warm and memorable experience for all.

This natural setting makes The Radcliffe Centre an ideal venue for outdoor events and camping trips, fostering a connection with nature and the great outdoors.
